The Role Money Plays in Schooling

Money has many roles in the school system. Examples of this can be how certain students are treated based on their social class, funding for Teachers, and the ability for students and teachers to have all of the resources they need. To start we will go more into detail on how students of different social classes receive different help and support from school staff. Students of lower class families typically are provided more resources then just what happens in the class room, some may receive discounted or free lunches and breakfast, or the books they need may be given to them rather than have to be payed for, and help can even go as far as giving students the resources they need over the weekends. This is very important as not every student is given a solid home life to feel comfortable enough at school to actually learn and grow. Another example of the role money has is the proper funding for teachers. This is important because without the correct funding teachers will not be able to teach to the extent they need to. This may be manifested in the form of funding for technology in the class room, books for both teachers and students, and other aspects to make the class room and school an optimal place for students to feel comfortable to learn. Without proper funding teachers may not be able to teach equitably and thus it is very important. Lastly, the role of money is important an order for students and teachers to each have the proper resources they need to succeed. If teachers can not provide the right resources for their students such as books, and technology that can help advance their educational success, then students wont be learn9ing to the best of their abilities.
